I’m Carl Chapman, Associate Broker with West USA Realty — one of Arizona’s largest and most established brokerages, serving the state since 1986 — and I built this hub to help you compare the cities, neighborhoods, and towns that make up the Valley of the Sun and the surrounding region.

Explore the neighborhoods, cities, and towns that make up the Valley of the Sun. I’ve organized them with the metropolitan core first, followed by communities across greater Maricopa County.
These three areas anchor the Valley’s business, cultural, and resort districts.
State capital and the Valley’s economic engine, with neighborhoods that run from downtown high-rises to homes bordering the mountain preserves. Major employers, cultural attractions, and professional sports give the city its metropolitan energy, set against desert open space.
A center of desert resort living, with golf, shopping, and dining that draw visitors year-round — more than 200 golf courses sit in the greater Scottsdale area. Neighborhoods range from Old Town condos and townhomes to North Scottsdale custom estates.
Arizona’s highest-priced residential market, defined by multi-million-dollar estates on large view lots. Strict single-family zoning preserves privacy, and resorts including Sanctuary on Camelback and Mountain Shadows sit within town limits.
One of Arizona’s largest master-planned communities, built along I-17 in the far North Valley. Anthem Golf & Country Club, the community park and water park, and extensive recreation facilities anchor neighborhoods ranging from entry-level homes to custom properties in the guard-gated country club sections.
A fast-growing West Valley city with attainably priced newer homes and quick access to the I-10 employment corridor. Phoenix Raceway, home of NASCAR championship weekend, sits at the city’s southern edge.
One of America’s fastest-growing cities, with wide-open desert and new construction at some of the Valley’s most affordable price points. The Verrado master-planned community and the developing Teravalis project (formerly Douglas Ranch) define its growth.
Boutique town in the high-desert foothills, known for its art galleries, dining, and The Boulders resort. Elevation above the Valley floor brings cooler temperatures, and homesites emphasize views and privacy.
Western heritage alongside upscale desert homes. Large lots, horse privileges, and a frontier-style downtown give the town its character, minutes from North Valley conveniences.
Master-planned town built around its namesake fountain — one of the world’s tallest — with mountain views in every direction. A dark-sky ordinance, championship golf, and a walkable town center define the community.
The Valley’s sports and entertainment hub, anchored by State Farm Stadium and the Westgate Entertainment District. Historic downtown, Arrowhead Ranch, and a wide range of neighborhoods span attainable to luxury price points.
Spring-training home of the Reds and Guardians, with master-planned communities and steady growth along the I-10 corridor. Estrella Mountain Ranch and Palm Valley anchor its golf-course neighborhoods.
A small West Valley city with tree-lined streets, a village-style center, and the historic Wigwam resort. Planned as a company town more than a century ago, it keeps a low-density feel minutes from urban amenities.
Northwest Valley city with Lake Pleasant access, the Peoria Sports Complex, and established master-planned communities. Vistancia — including the 55+ Trilogy at Vistancia — offers resort-style amenities.
Compact West Valley city at the I-10 and Loop 101 interchange, giving commuters direct access to the corridor’s employment and distribution centers. Housing remains among the most affordable in the metro area.
Rural character, large lots, and custom homes near the base of the White Tank Mountains, with the regional park’s trail system next door. New master-planned construction, including Granite Vista, is adding inventory.
